DKT South Africa would like to announce the closure of its doors on February 15th, 2012 and would like to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to all those whose have helped DKT South Africa grow and become the presence it has become over the last three years. Over the last three years DKT South Africa has been the implementing partner behind the Banake Initiative – a programme that has brought conversation and communication back into thousands of homes and families throughout Khayelitsha.

Beginning on Thursday, February 16th 2012, DKT International will be handing the Banake Initiative project to its key driver and Programme Manager, Mrs. Regina Mlobeli. At this time, The Banake Initiative will no longer be project driven by DKT South Africa but will be the first project being run by an independent organisation of the same name. The Banake Initiative organisation will maintain its Khayelitsha Office as well as the staff administering that office. Regina Mlobeli has been promoted to Director of the Banake Initiative. John A. Harris will no longer head DKT South Africa and will sit on the Banake Initiative’s Board of Trustees.

The Banake Initiative looks forward to working with you all in the future.
